My Thesis' Abstract
My research title is the assessment of environment-economy nexus in Chinese cities. In terms of environment, I will focus on carbon emissions. This research will involve the study of carbon emission accounting, drivers of carbon emissions, input-output model and decomposition analysis. Then a panel data analysis will be conducted by econometrics model to find out whether the relationship between carbon emissions and economy accords with the Kuznets curve. Highly urbanized Chinese cities will be chosen at first. A comparable analysis of the similarities and differences between Chinese cities and other worldwide cities may be conducted later. Finally constructive policy indications about how to reduce carbon emissions without slowing down the speed of economic development will be proposed.
