My Thesis' Abstract
For my current PhD research, I seek to understand how the European Union and its constituent parts organise and conduct climate change policy evaluation. This includes studying both ‘formal’ aspects of policy evaluation, including the EU’s Monitoring Mechanism, as well as ‘informal’ evaluations conducted by a wide range of non-governmental actors. In particular, I aim to combine theoretical work with empirical analysis in order study the role of policy evaluation in the increasingly polycentric climate governance setting in the European Union.
