Bob has a strong background in design communications, from branding to digital channels and film. He also has strong business skills at P&L level, having been a director of a number of companies from SMEs to larger organisations, including an international plc. Bob also has knowledge of low carbon sustainable energy and environmental issues and has a BSc in this area. Bob has studied at postgraduate level in science and technology and has been awarded an MA in Environmental Sciences and Humanities. During a long and intense career Bob has worked on literally hundreds of low carbon energy projects including: biomass, on and offshore wind, tidal, and construction (retrofit projects).

The core theme that runs through Bob's career is the communication of scientific information and in particular engagement with stakeholder audiences.
